If you have purchased a TR Pull Start please send it to me for a rework. I want to machine the inside of the housing to clear the rope better and less rubbing on the rope. You will get much better recoil too.
If you have a brand new still in package pull start I will replace it with a modded pull start so there will be an immediate turn around. If your pull start has been used I will machine yours and I will only have it for 1-3 days. All modded pull starts and pull starts made from now on will have a TR engraved on the inside of the housing to easily identify the modded housings. I will post a pic of the TR and it'splacement on the housing.

For International customers, I have thought a lot about what to do and probably the best thing would be to send me a picture of your housing destroyed, put it in the vise and bend the edges or do something to destroy it and I will send you a replacement.

If you would like to Mod your TR pull Start yourself, here are some instructions.
First, remove handle while holding spool tight, after you have removed handle, let the spool SLOWLY unwind.
Remove screw under TR logo and carefully remove internals.



This is my pencil grinder and cylindrical carbide deburr, a dremel will also work fine. The debur bit is a double cut and easily available at fastener supply and a lot of home supply or automotive supply.



Carefully grind a flat between the 2 cut lines in the housing. Nothing critical or difficult here. Just make sure not to leave any sharp edges.



Should look something like this when done.
During reassembly, MAKE SURE the small hex lines up and is fully engaged before installing screw, once you are sure, install screw and tighten. I would suggest about 2 turns preload on the string then feed it through the hole and tie off the handle.

Jeg tror du bare skal slå istykker huset og ikke innmaten sånn som jeg skjønte det.....
