Evolution of RC scratch built Riva Aquarama to reach 45 km/h
Hello
I would like to share some clip how we make a wood model boat run 45 km/h:
on 2013 tantrasway racing team founded with the aim to motorize runabouts and conquer limitations of speed. We reverted to the riva aquarama project. twin 1800kv brushless motors were used. Some first tests:

then, with change in center gravity and shaft angle

the 4th test with some adjustments:

the bottom was redesigned for more hydrodynamic, the 5th test

Recently, here is our newest riva aquarama special edition, it reaches 45 km/h just within 20m drag run

Here are the specs of the boat:
Hull: self made by tantrasway
Motor: dual brushless motor with 1800Kv water-cooled
ESC: dual 120A water-cooled
Battery: dual LIPO 4s 4000mAh, 30C
Shaft: 4mm flexible shaft
Propeller: dual nylon 3-blade propellers
Rudder: dual CNC aluminum rudder
Standard servo with dual bearings and 180oC rotational range
Radio controller: 2.4ghz 3 Channel Radio System with 800mAh battery
Water-cooling system
Thanks for watching,

Hi!
You are most welcome with all largescale models here.

This boat is only 1:10 scale so it does not belong here anyway, no offense ...

What is the minimum scale or measurement to be considered "largescale" ?

Minimum 1:6 scale is considered as largescale.

Thanks for your reply.Mats B wrote:Minimum 1:6 scale is considered as largescale.
So the scale of a ship model is 1:100, the genuine ship is 200 m long, so the ship model - 2 m long - is considered "small". While the scale of a car model is 1:6, the genuine car is 4.68 m long, the car model - 0.78 m long - is considered "large".

in fact, the boat is not that small, it's 87 cm long ( bigger than most of the model car).
